How It HappenedLebanon Valley secured an important Commonwealth Conference win, riding a big early lead and career games by
Taylor Umbrell and
Lexie Lantz to beat Widener 78-59.
Umbrell flirted with a triple-double at 18 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists, and Lantz provided the inside spark LVC needed with 17 points and nine rebounds. The Dutchmen defense came to play, recording a season-high eight blocks as they held Widener to an 0-for-15 start and 32.2 percent shooting for the game.
LVC ran out to a 17-3 lead, and the only time the home team was in trouble was early in the second half when the Pride pulled within five after wrapping a 12-2 run around halftime. Lantz took over, though, scoring six straight points and seven overall in a 10-0 LVC run to re-establish control and cruise the rest of the way.
Notables- LVC had its best shooting day of the season, hitting 30-of-58 shots (.517) and 6-of-15 (.400) from three-point range.Â
- Umbrell packed her stat line with 18 points, 10 boards, seven assists, three steals, and two blocks as she shot 6-for-10 overall and 4-for-6 from the outside. Lantz, in only 19 minutes, dropped in 17 with nine boards and a block on 7-of-11 shooting.

They Said It"It's games like that when a player can show up not just to score points, but let her teammates score, and get rebounds, and help us out as a team, that was awesome." - Lantz on Umbrell's near-triple-double performance.
The Playoff PushThe win pushed LVC to 14-7 overall, 6-7 in Commonwealth Conference play and tied with Lycoming - its next CC opponent - for the fifth and final playoff spot. [
