How It HappenedLebanon Valley got double-digit scoring outputs from four players and rode a tone-setting performance from
Lexie Lantz to a 76-59 road victory over Marywood in the Flying Dutchmen's final non-conference game of the season Wednesday night.
Lantz scored a game-high 17 points, including eight of the team's first ten, to go along with four rebounds, the team's lone block, and a steal.
Peyton Carper netted 14,
Bridget Rothert added 12, and
Kaitlyn Van Tash scored 11.
Lebanon Valley (15-7, 6-7 CC) trailed for just 25 seconds in the game's opening moments before Rothert tied things up and Lantz netted eight-straight to give the Dutchmen the early advantage. An 11-2 run midway through the first half made it 21-12 LVC but the Pacers (13-8) clawed back, drawing even thanks to a 9-0 run. The Dutchmen quickly turned the tide, ending the half with a 9-0 run of their own and giving them a 30-21 lead heading into the break.
Lantz's layup at the 16:49 mark gave LVC its first double-digit advantage of the night and the lead quickly ballooned to 15 following a
Taylor Umbrell three-ball with 12:24 left to play.
Marywood made it interesting by limiting the Dutchmen to seven points over the next six minutes and eventually cut the deficit to as little as five with 6:14 remaining, but a momentum-changing 17-4 Lebanon Valley run late in the half put the game out of reach and ended the Pacers' comeback hopes.
