How It HappenedA late run by first-place Lycoming brought them back to beat Lebanon Valley, 67-59 in Commonwealth Conference play on Feb. 14.
Kevin Agnew scored 22 and
Andy Orr turned in a big game with 19 points and nine rebounds, but Lycoming's Nykolas King and Issak Bodon brought the Warriors back after a see-saw second half.
Luke Berguson's three-pointer with 3:34 to go put LVC ahead by a point, but Lyco responded with a 9-0 run keyed by Bodon's three-pointer, and the Warriors held LVC scoreless for nearly three minutes until
Zach Mrozek's three stopped the bleeding in the final minute. Lycoming made the most of its foul shots in the final 30 seconds to hang on for the win.
Notables- A game after going to the line 43 times, LVC had a season-low seven trips to the stripe at Lycoming, making all seven.
- LVC drained six three-pointers led by Mrozek's 3-for-4 clip on the outside. He ended up with 11 points.
- Agnew went over 20 points for the fourth time in the last five games.
-
Ricky Bugg matched his career-high with 20 minutes played.
The Playoff PictureLVC has a very slim opportunity to get into the Commonwealth Conference tournament, needing to beat Alvernia and Stevenson in the final week, have Alvernia lose their final game against Albright, and get significant help from all over the conference. LVC still has incentive to win at least one more game - at 12-11 overall, a final record at .500 or above will make them ECAC-eligible regardless of their CC Tournament status.
Next UpLVC travels to Alvernia Tuesday before finishing the regular season next Saturday at home on Senior Day.
