How It HappenedSAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Lebanon Valley finished up its Puerto Rico trip by falling to Simpson College (Iowa) 54-53. The Storm improved to 7-4, while the Dutchmen moved to 8-3.
Down by three at 49-46 with 1:27 to go,
Taylor Umbrell tied the game with a huge 3-pointer, and gave LVC the lead on its next position with a layup and got fouled on the play. She nailed the free throw to give the Dutchmen a 52-49 advantage with 52 seconds remaining.
With 23 seconds to go,
Alyssa Cirucci kept LVC ahead at 53-51 with a made free throw, but Simpson's Maddie Bosworth made a free throw with 16 seconds left to bring the Storm to within one at 53-52. With one second remaining the game, Simpson's Noreen Morrow was fouled in the act of shooting, sending her to the line with a chance to give the Storm the late lead.
Morrow made both free throws, giving Simpson the 54-53 lead and the eventual win.
Inside the Numbers - Umbrell finished with a game-high 15 points.

Peyton Carper came off the bench and chipped in 10 points while adding six steals.

 - The Dutchmen had 22 points off turnovers and outscored Simpson in bench points 20-19.
LVC Set to Return Stateside The Dutchmen are set to get back into MAC Commonwealth action on Saturday when LVC travels to Reading to take on Alvernia at 1 p.m.
