How It HappenedAndy Orr recorded his second double-double of the year but Lebanon Valley couldn't overcome Moravian's solid shooting down the stretch in an 86-81 loss at Sorrentino Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon.
Trailing by as many as 13 points in the second half, the Flying Dutchmen (3-3) cut the deficit to five four times in the final 3:10. Orr's turnaround jumper with just over three minutes left made it 76-71 but the Greyhounds (2-3) responded with free throws on back-to-back possessions.
Zach Mrozek knocked down jump shots at the 1:49 and 1:17 marks, but Moravian had answers in the form of a pair Oneil Holder foul shots and a Jimmy Murray 18-foot jumper.
Sam Light converted a pair from the charity stripe to make it 82-77 with 47 seconds remaining but Murray connected on another jump shot on the ensuing possession to put things out of reach with little more than a half minute left to play.
Down five at the break, LVC drew to within one at 41-40 when Light lobbed an inbound pass to Orr who coolly tipped his attempt through the twine with 17:46 remaining. Trailing by just four a little more than four minutes later, the Greyhounds used a key 13-4 run over a 3:32 span to force the Dutchmen to play catch up the rest of the way.

Travis Conrad free throws with 7:19 remaining in the first half. The junior's 3-ball on the team's next possession kept the advantage at four but the visitors closed out the half on the first of two pivotal 13-4 runs during the course of the contest.
