How It Happened
Four Lebanon Valley players reached the double-digit scoring mark but the Flying Dutchmen couldn't hold off Misericordia down the stretch, falling to the Cougars 68-65 at MU's Anderson Center on Tuesday night.

LVC (3-2) trailed by nine with less than seven minutes to play but Kyler Burke's rebound and putback of a Zach Mrozek miss with 1:59 remaining erased the late-game deficit, capping a 15-5 run and putting the Dutchmen out in front 65-64 in crunch time.

Misericordia scored the game's final four points, however, as a Darren Davy jumper reclaimed the lead for the Cougars at the 1:28 mark and DJ Marlow's steal and subsequent layup with 16 seconds remaining putting LVC in a hole. Travis Conrad got off a 3-point attempt with seven seconds left but it fell short, allowing MU to escape with a slim victory.

The Dutchmen led 33-28 at the break and increased their lead to as many as eight when Andy Orr converted the first of two free throws early in the second half, but the home team used a 13-2 run over the next 3:56 to regain the advantage at the 14:03 mark.

The Cougars raced out to an 18-5 lead to begin the game but Lebanon Valley held MU to 10 points over the final 13:22 of the first half. The Dutchmen put together an impressive 20-3 run to climb back into it, capped by free throws from Mrozek and Tahir Wharton.

Sam Light netted 12 first-half points for LVC, leading the team heading into halftime.
