How It HappenedDown by one point at 27-26 at halftime, Elizabethtown outscored Lebanon Valley 25-9 in the third quarter en route to a 68-54 victory on Tuesday night at Sorrentino Gymnasium. The Dutchmen fell to 1-1, while the Blue Jays improved to 2-1.
E-Town jumped out to a 9-4 lead to begin the game and held a 12-6 advantage after one period of action. After the Blue Jays increased their lead to eight at 14-6, LVC went on a 13-4 run, which was capped off
Alyssa Cirucci's layup that gave the Dutchmen their first lead of the contest at 19-18. E-Town went back up by three at 22-19 with 2:42 to go in the half, but
Taylor Umbrell drilled a 3-pointer to tie it at 22-22. The rest of the half was back-and-forth, but the Dutchmen went into halftime clinging to a one-point lead at 27-26.
The Blue Jays exploded in the third quarter, outscoring LVC 25-6 to go up 51-36 after three quarters of action. In the fourth quarter, E-Town never relinquished its double-digit advantage and went on to win 68-54.

Kiely Chaklos notched 13 points tonight and needs just 10 points to LVC women's basketball's 12th-ever 1,000 career point scorer.
 - Umbrell had 10 points and three steals, while
Lexie Lantz came off the bench and recorded 10 points.

Who's Next?LVC hosts the Rinso Marquette Tournament this Saturday and Sunday. The Dutchmen take on Shenandoah Saturday at 5 p.m. and will play either FDU-Florham or Medgar Evers on Sunday at 1 or 3 p.m.
