How It HappenedThe number one team in the country handed Lebanon Valley its third loss of the season on Wednesday night in Grantham, Pa. The Falcons defeated the Dutchmen 5-0 and improved to 10-0-1, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth, while LVC fell to 8-3, 1-1 MAC Commonwealth.
Marisa Weaver got Messiah on the board first just over four minutes into the match off assists from Nikki Elsaesser and Kyele Bridel. In the 20th minute, Elsaesser made it 2-0 Falcons off an assist from Skylar Ulry, as Messiah went into the break up 2-0.
The Falcons would add three more in the second half and limited the Dutchmen's chances, as LVC was unable to get anything going offensively.
Inside the Numbers - The Falcons recorded 23 shots on the night (13 on goal), while both of the Dutchmen's shots were on net.
