How It HappenedLebanon Valley dominated Hood 3-0 (25-11, 25-16 XX-XX) on Tuesday night at Sorrentino Gymnasium in MAC Commonwealth action. The Dutchmen's team hitting percentage of .462 this evening set a new program record for three-set matches. The old record was .416, which was set against the Blazers last season.
First Set – in the early going, the opening set was close as it was tied at 4-4. The Dutchmen proceeded to score five consecutive points, capped off by a
Chloe McCarty kill, to make it 9-4 in favor of LVC. The Dutchmen continued to extend their first-set lead and led by as many as 14 en route to the 25-11 set victory.
Second Set – The Blazers began the middle set scoring five of the first eight points for the 5-3 advantage, however LVC went on a 14-3 run and completely turned the set around and led 17-8. For the remainder of the set, Hood never got close and the Dutchmen took the set 25-16.
Third Set – The final set was closer than the first two, as LVC jumped out to a 6-2 advantage, but the Blazers kept it close as the Dutchmen later held a 9-6 lead. From that point, scored six of nine points to increase the lead to 15-9. Hood came to within four at 16-12 with a kill, but LVC was able to hold on and close out the match in style with a kill from Weidemoyer.
Inside the Numbers - Weidemoyer led with 16 kills, while
Alli Quirk added 10 and
Amber Deshong chipped in seven.

Emily Sides Erin Koons, and Morgan webb tallied two service aces apiece.
- Quirk and Weidemoyer each had two blocks, while
Rachel Moltz racked up 26 assists and Sides added nine digs, while
Allie Garrett and Webb each recorded seven digs.
- As a team, the Dutchmen totaled 43 kills in 78 total attacks for the record-breaking percentage of .462. They had just seven total errors in the match.
MAC Standings UpdateLVC improved to 14-6, 4-1 MAC Commonwealth and sits alone in third place. Stevenson (5-0) and Messiah (5-1) are ahead of the Dutchmen and LVC has three conference games remaining, including a trip to Messiah on Oct. 21.
Who's Next?The Dutchmen head to Westminster, Md. for a tri-match with Centennial Conference opponents Swarthmore and the hosts, McDaniel. LVC takes on the Garnet at 2 p.m. on Saturday before battling the Green Terror at 4 p.m.
