SCRANTON, Pa. - Second-half goals by
Teanna Shutt and
Johnna Garbrick capped a comeback 2-1 win for Lebanon Valley at Scranton.
The Dutchmen (3-1) were outshot 15-6, but made the most of their chances as the defense, led by
Taylor Reinhold's six saves, kept them in the game with a chance to win. The victory was LVC's second of the weekend after beating Marywood 6-0 on Saturday.
Scranton took the lead in the 34th minute when Kelly Egan blasted a ball from the left, coming off Samantha Wargo's assist. LVC hung tough to keep the scoreline 1-0 at halftime despite a 9-0 first-half shots deficit, and the equalizer was delivered courtesy of Shutt in the 67th minute.
Meghan Ross delivered a ball through the midfield for Shutt to finish for her second goal in as many days.
Garbrick hit the winner in the 77th minute, scoring on a one-touch finish from
Kristin Robeson's leftside pass. LVC limited Scranton to one shot and one corner the balance of the game to secure the result.
LVC returns home Thursday to host Wilkes.
