ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley defended its home court by topping McDaniel 3-0 and Franklin & Marshall 3-1 on the final day of the Rumble In the Valley tournament on Saturday afternoon. LVC swept the Green Terror in the opener 26-24, 25-23, 25-12 before coming from behind to best F&M 15-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-13 in the tourney's final match.

Emily Sides led the way for LVC against McDaniel, racking up a match-best 10 kills with a hitting percentage of .474. Senior captain
Kayla Confer adding nine kills while sophomore
Greta Weidemoyer pitched in with eight. Defensively, junior
Allie Garrett dug out a match-high 16 balls while senior
Kacey Musselman and sophomore Rachel Motz did their share by recording eight and seven digs, respectively. Musselman, the team's setter, assisted on 38 of the Flying Dutchmen's points.
Following two tight sets to begin the match, the ladies used a .452 attacking percentage in the third and deciding game to leave no doubt.
Lebanon Valley's final outing of the day proved to be the most exciting and hard-fought victory of the weekend as Franklin & Marshall gained a 1-0 advantage to open play before jumping out to another lead to begin the second set. The Dutchmen rallied, however, and blazed the comeback trail en route to 25-23 victory in game number two. The final two sets saw the home team wear down the visitors and eventually hand the Diplomats their first loss of the young season.
Weidemoyer pounded home a match-high 16 kills while sophomore
Taylor Troutman added 13 of her own. Musselman's 48 assists were tops for the match and Garrett racked up 28 digs on the defensive side. Sides contributed in a big way with 16 digs and Musselman chipped in with 11.
After opening the match to the tune of a .600 attacking percentage, the Diplomats were slowed by LVC in the final three sets and failed to register a percentage above .150 the rest of the way.
For the weekend, the ladies were 4-0 at the Sorrentino Gymnasium; the only team to emerge the Rumble In the Valley tournament undefeated.
Lebanon Valley is next in action Wednesday night, Sep. 10 when they open league play by hosting Commonwealth Conference foe Stevenson at 7 p.m
