Men’s Lax Downs Hood on the Road, 13-5

FREDERICK, Md. – Senior Malik Pedroso was unstoppable as the Lebanon Valley men's lacrosse team led wire-to-wire in a 13-5 win over Hood on Thursday afternoon in Frederick, Md.

Pedroso netted five goals and tallied four assists to lead the Valley with nine points offensively. Senior Matt Roupe added two goals, while six other Dutchmen notched a tally in the win.

Freshman Tristan Kalinay opened the scoring with his second career goal 30 seconds into the contest, sparking a 5-0 opening quarter for the Valley. The Blazers finally got on the board to open the second, but another winning quarter from LVC took the game into the locker room with the Dutchmen holding a comfortable 9-2 advantage.

The second half featured just seven goals as LVC played solid defense and worked the clock. The Valley tallied two-of-three third-period markers and split with Hood in the fourth with two apiece to push the final score to 13-5.

Senior Mike Moll picked up his sixth win of the year, making four saves in 30 minutes of play. Classmate Kevin Krasely also notched two quarters of playing time, making seven saves and allowing three goals.

LVC led in shots, 42-32, and Hood held a 35-30 edge in ground balls. The Valley was just 1-for-7 on extra-man opportunities and lost the faceoff battle as Hood won 13-of-21 draws.

The Dutchmen return to Arnold Field for their regular-season finale on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
