SCRANTON, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's lacrosse team surrendered eight goals in the final quarter, falling to Marywood on Saturday afternoon, 11-8.
Despite controlling play for the majority of the game, Marywood came out in the fourth a completely different team to execute the comeback. The Valley held a 5-1 lead at the half and an 8-3 advantage after the third period, but were shutout in the final quarter, giving up eight straight goals to suffer the loss.
Malik Pedroso and
Andrew Dennison led the Valley attack with a pair of hat tricks, while
Matt Roupe added two goals for LVC.
Ryan Lanigan,
Alex Beard, and
Scott Travers each notched assists on the day.
Senior
Mike Moll made 13 saves in the cage, suffering the loss, while Marywood's Joe Magargal picked up the win with nine saves between the pipes. Marywood held a 33-23 edge in shots and a 32-25 edge in ground balls on the day. Additionally, the home team won 15 of 22 face offs.
Next up for the Valley is Crosse Out Cancer weekend, beginning on Saturday with a matchup with Neumann at 1 p.m.
