ANNVILLE, Pa. – Junior 
Bailey Benz tied a career-high with eight points to lead the Lebanon Valley women's lacrosse team to a 17-6 victory on Saturday afternoon over Shenandoah at Arnold Field.
The Valley gave up the opening goal, but tied it up just two minutes later and took off, never trailing from that point forward and opening the game to a 10-goal difference at 16-6 with 7:02 to play, coasting to its first win of the year.
Benz wasn't the only Dutchmen to put in a career performance, though, as classmate 
Anna Pagels netted a career-high five goals on the afternoon. Senior 
Mel Modrick and sophomore 
Sam Boyce were a force offensively as well, notching eight goals and two assists between them.
Sophomore 
Shelby Morris was effective again between the pipes, earning her first collegiate win with a six-save performance. Shenandoah's Ashley Cross was impressive as well, making 13 saves in the loss.
LVC held the advantage in virtually every statistical category, leading 33-14 in shots, 15-11 in ground balls, 15-8 in draw controls, and 8-12 in turnovers. Defensively, Benz caused four turnovers on the day, while sophomore 
Tori Kuntz, senior 
Sara Vanderbogart, and junior 
Morgan Heller each added one caused turnover apiece.
Pagels' effort was shown the most in her draw control efforts, nabbing five on the afternoon, while Kuntz added three and Benz, Boyce, and junior 
Jenny Simensky picked up two each.
The Valley travels to Scranton on Wednesday for a battle with the Royals at 4 p.m.
