ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's lacrosse team will compete for a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom title this week as the third seed in the conference tournament. The Dutchmen will travel to face second-seeded DeSales University on Wednesday afternoon in the semifinals.
LVC enters the postseason with a 10-7 overall record and a 4-3 mark in conference games. The Dutchmen are looking to make their third consecutive appearance in the conference final since transitioning over to the MAC Freedom. The Dutchmen will face DeSales in the semifinals for the second consecutive year. LVC won last year's meeting by a score of 21-12 on Arnold Field. The Bulldogs won this year's regular-season meeting 10-6 in the first conference game of the year back on April 1. Top-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology will host fourth-seeded Misericordia University in the other semifinal on Wednesday in Hoboken, New Jersey. The Dutchmen and Bulldogs will have their first draw at 4 p.m., while the Ducks and Cougars will play at 7 p.m.
The Dutchmen played all three postseason qualifiers at Arnold Field this spring. They dropped a 16-4 decision to Stevens and a heartbreaking 9-8 decision to Misericordia. The Ducks defeated DeSales on Saturday in the regular season finale, 15-4 at the DeBaun Athletic Complex. They knocked off Misericordia 19-2 earlier this month. DeSales is 12-5 overall and went 6-1 in conference play. The Bulldogs scored six consecutive goals to turn a 4-3 deficit into a 9-4 lead to defeat the Dutchmen in the regular-season meeting.
There is an admission cost for all conference tournament games. Prices are set by the conference office and are $10 for adults, and $5 for seniors (65+), and youth (7-17). MAC students with an ID and children six and under with an adult are free. DeSales is a cash-only facility.
