ANNVILLE, Pa. - A balanced offensive unit and a strong effort on the boards allowed Lebanon Valley to sail past Hood 80-51.

LVC improves to a 6-1 record and 1-1 in Commonwealth Conference play with their win over Hood. Substantial minutes from the entire roster allowed for a diverse scoring unit as each Dutchman tallied buckets.

Leading The Valley for the night was Bridget Rothert and Lexi Lantz with 15 points apiece, Umbrell trailed close behind with 13. However, the difference came through in rebounding, where the Dutchmen dominated the Blazers 59-29, more than doubling their number. Lauren Derby and Kaitlyn Van Tash finished with outstanding performances on the glass, both earning career-high rebound numbers as Derby recorded 13 boards and Van Tash 11.

The game was taken over by the Dutchmen early on with a quick three buckets by Derby. The Valley cruised through the first half with several short runs. Hood's Verkia Smith led the Blazers with seven points, however their offense never made a run last longer than four points. Meanwhile, Alyssa Circucci dished out five assists throughout the half to give the Valley some leeway. The Dutchmen were 10-for-11 from the line keeping them at a solid advantage, sitting comfortably 42-29 at the half.

The second half became a battle at the foul line with both teams in the double bonus early on. LVC shot 7-of-10 compared to the Blazers 3-of-12 at the line allowing the Dutchmen to cruise into an 80-51 victory. Freshman Alex Lehman, making her collegiate debut, tallied her first career bucket to get on the boxscore as well.

LVC will travel to Albright this Saturday.
