GLENSIDE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley ended the Commonwealth Conference portion of its 2014 schedule with a 3-0 sweep of league foe Arcadia on Thursday night, Oct. 30.  The Flying Dutchmen took care of the hometown Knights by set scores of 25-17, 25-16, and 25-12.
After what LVC head coach Wayne Perry described as a slow start, the Dutchmen got things rolling and parlayed some strong ball control into control of the match.  He was especially pleased with the service performance of
Rachel Moltz as the sophomore racked up a match-best seven aces on the night.
Sophomore
Greta Weidemoyer hammered home a match-high 11 kills and amassed a .417 hitting percentage.  Junior
Alli Quirk accounted for seven of Lebanon Valley's 34 total kills and fellow junior
Emily Sides added five tallies.
Junior libero
Allie Garrett led the way defensively with 13 digs while Moltz added nine of her own.  Sides pitched in with seven and senior captain
Kacey Musselman and sophomore
Allison Cable dug out five Arcadia attempts apiece.  Musselman assisted on 26 Dutchmen points and Lebanon Valley recorded four blocks as a team.
The victory improved LVC to 25-5 on the season and capped the Dutchmen's Commonwealth Conference record at 7-1.  Lebanon Valley will travel to Gallaudet and take part in the school's tri-match on the last day of the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 1.
The Blue and White have clinched the #2 seed in the 2014 Commonwealth Conference postseason tournament and will host #3-seeded Messiah at Sorrentino Gymnasium next Wednesday night, Nov. 5 in a semifinal matchup.  Lebanon Valley defeated the Falcons 3-0 in the teams' lone meeting of the season earlier this month.
