Lebanon Valley 11, Hood 2
ANNVILLE, Pa. -
Alex Beard and
Malik Pedroso combined for 10 of LVC's 11 goals as they blew past Hood, 11-2, to pick up their first Commonwealth Conference win of the season.
The Dutchmen (6-4, 1-2 CC) jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never let up as Beard scored a career-high six with an assist and Pedroso had four with a helper, setting a new single-season record with 27 assists.
Pedroso scored man-up to start the game, and
Bryan Cooney made it 2-0 from
Ian Schmid before Beard's first closed the first quarter. Beard made it 4-0 to start the second before Hood managed its only two of the game, first on Cody Mai's unassisted strike, and then when longpoles James Weger and Tucker Palmer hooked up on a break. Beard and Pedroso more than canceled those out, however, combining for three more before the half to lead 7-2.
The first goal of the third quarter came from Pedroso, and Beard scored the last three of the game to finish the 11-2 rout.
Mike Moll had a good day in the cage, making seven saves in three quarters of work;
Kevin Krasley had two saves and didn't allow a goal in the fourth. Joseph McCulloh made 12 saves for Hood. LVC led by a relatively slim 35-28 on shots, but were up 23-11 on shots on goal.
The Dutchmen stay home, hosting Albright Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
