WINCHESTER, Va. – The Lebanon Valley women's basketball team held the lead from the opening bucket to the final buzzer as they came away with their fourth straight win, a 61-50 victory over Shenandoah on Monday evening.

Senior Caitlin Bach returned to the starting lineup, posting 13 points and five rebounds on 5-of-8 shooting from the field and 3-of-4 from the charity stripe. Junior Kiely Chaklos also added 13 points and sophomore Bridget Rothert rounded out the LVC double-figure scorers with 10.

Shenandoah's Crystal Petrus led all scorers with 21 points on the night, shooting 70% from the field and going 3-for-5 from long distance.

The Dutchmen (7-1, 2-0 CC) jumped out to an 11-2 lead in the opening six minutes and never looked back as once they pushed the advantage to double digits at 17-6 with 10:11 to play in the first half, LVC never allowed that lead to creep back to single digits for the remainder of the game.

LVC held a 31-15 lead at halftime and meticulously worked the advantage throughout the second half to hold on for a 61-50 final score.

The Dutchmen outrebounded the Hornets, 31-23, in the contest and went 25-for-54 from the field (46.3%), including 4-of-10 from three-point range. Chaklos and sophomore Alyssa Cirucci each notched four assists apiece, while Bach added two blocks and Rothert snagged three steals.

The Valley returns home on Wednesday afternoon inside LVC Gymnasium when they take on Arcadia in a Commonwealth Conference battle at 1 p.m.
