Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Softball
Game 1 - Lebanon Valley 5, Elizabethtown 4

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Allie Hartman forced extra innings with an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh and eventually won the game on a sac fly in the ninth to give Lebanon Valley a 5-4 win over Elizabethtown in game one of Thursday's doubleheader.

Though the Blue Jays were the first to score, LVC put up runs in the second, third, and fourth innings, and hit consistently until the very end.

Steph Hulme was the first to score for the Dutchmen (15-9, 3-2 CC). Hulme knocked a leadoff single through the left side. She advanced to second on a single by Alexa Maddy and scored on a double to right by Chelsea Kehr.

Hartman earned the first of her three RBIs in the bottom of the third for knocking in Katie Deardorff on a sac fly.

Maddy put the Dutchmen up 3-0 in the fourth on an RBI double to right-center, plating Steffani Secola.

The Blue Jays (17-11, 5-3) homered in both the sixth and the seventh innings to take a 4-3 lead before Hartman pushed the game into extra innings and hit the game winner.

Kristen Palmerio (8-5) pitched all the way for the win. She allowed four runs on six hits and two walks through nine innings of work. She struck out four.

Julie Sebastian (12-4) picked up the loss for the Blue Jays. She allowed five runs on 15 hits and two walks with two strikeouts.

Game 2 - Lebanon Valley 6, Elizabethtown 3

The Blue Jays locked in for three runs in the third inning. That lead that looked secure until the sixth inning, when the Dutchmen put five runs on the board to earn a 6-3 win.

Mary Readinger was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the third and came around to score on an RBI double by Chelsea Kehr to give the Dutchmen their first run of the game and make it 3-1.

The game moved quickly through the fourth and fifth innings but slowed considerably as LVC retuned the scoreboard with its late-inning rally.

Katie Deardorff led off with a hit by pitch and advanced on a single by Palmerio.  Hartman doubled to right-center to plate Deardorff and give the team runners on second and third.

LVC put up three more consecutive hits, including an RBI single by Hulme and a two-run single by Jorey Aumiller that put the team up 5-3.

The rally prompted a pitching change, but Kehr was able to knock another run in on a fielder's choice two batters later to give the Dutchmen their final run.

Palmerio (9-5) earned her second win of the day, pitching another complete game. She allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks with a strikeout.

Justyna Pepkowski (1-3) earned the  loss after allowing six runs - five earned - on eight hits and two walks. She fanned five.

The Dutchmen return to action Tuesday at Arcadia at 3 p.m.
