ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley met its match Wednesday in a pair of nonconference losses to Susquehanna. The Dutchmen (23-13) were outscored by the Crusaders (21-11) by scores of 4-2 and 17-1 - the latter ending after just five innings in a mercy rule calling.

Game One

Kristen Palmerio pitched game one for LVC, holding the Crusaders scoreless through five quick innings and helping her own cause with an RBI single in the bottom of the first.

Chelsea Kehr came around to score in the second on a wild pitch, giving the Dutchmen a 2-0 lead in the early goings.

But the game unraveled with a four-run Susquehanna attack in the top of the sixth. Third baseman Alyssa Cantalini opened the inning on a triple and scored on a wild pitch. The Crusaders later got an RBI single from catcher Brittany Devlin and a two-run single from designated player Sam LaCoe to give them a 4-2 lead.

Palmerio (15-8) pitched the entire game for the loss. She allowed four runs on nine hits and a walk, while striking out five.

Game Two

Emily Robenolt made the start in the circle for LVC in game two, and started off strong. Robenolt held the Crusaders hitless through three innings but strained in the fourth.

Centerfielder Lisa Finizio bunted for the Crusaders' first hit. She stole second, advanced on a sac bunt, and scored on a single by Cantalini to get her team on the board.

Robenolt allowed three runs on five hits in the fourth and was pulled after facing two batters in the fifth. She allowed five total runs on seven hits but did not allow a walk.

The Crusaders squashed the game with a 14-run fifth inning, during which they faced three different Dutchmen pitchers. They hung nine runs - seven earned on Jasmine Dutton and three more - none earned - on Samantha Shimp.

Robenolt (4-2) earned the loss for LVC. Morgan Lewis (8-5) picked up the win for Susquehanna after allowing a ninth inning run on a sac fly to Palmerio.

The Dutchmen posted just five hits on the game. Chelsea Detwiler accounted for two of them, finishing a perfect 2 for 2.

LVC will close out its regular season schedule Saturday with home games against Lycoming. Saturday also marks the team's Senior Day where they'll honor graduating seniors Detwiler, Hulme, Kehr, and Palmerio.
