WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -
Hana Krechel's record-setting day sparked an offensive explosion as Lebanon Valley routed Lycoming, 19-4, in Commonwealth Conference play.
The Dutchmen (6-5, 1-1 CC) scored 15 straight goals at one point to hold the Warriors (3-8, 0-2 CC) scoreless for a 32:10 span in the middle of the game.
Krechel had 10 points on four goals and six assists - including the 50th assist of her career - and broke her own LVC single-game record with 10 draw controls. Six different Dutchmen had two-goal games and 10 scored overall, including
Sammie Reed's first career goal.
LVC dominated the game with a 35-11 shots advantage (including 13-2 in the second half), and led 16-9 on draw controls and 35-17 on ground balls.
Krechel started the scoring less than 30 seconds into the game, but Lyco quickly tied it on Brooke Strausser's first of three goals.
Christy Wilson and Krechel put LVC on top before Strausser scored at the 18:22 mark, but that would be the Warriors' final goal for more than a half-hour.
Taylor Kruter started the 15-0 run with two straight goals, and a host of Dutchmen got in on the action led by two goals each by
Bailey Benz and
Allison McGinniss before the break. Benz,
Mel Modrick, and McGinniss scored three goals in 39 seconds at one point in the run.
The second half was more of the same as
Suzanne Sullivan hit the first of five straight LVC goals to start the period, and the exceptional scoring streak ended when Strausser finished her hat trick with 16:12 left in the game.
Jen Strack added a late goal, her first of the season, to cap the win.
Erica Ameigh started and earned the win with five first-half saves;
Corinne Palombo did not make a stop in a half of relief. Lauren Reitnouer had three saves before being replaced by Kristina Maurer late in the first half.
LVC stays on the road to visit Alvernia on Saturday in a rematch of last year's MAC quarterfinal playoff game.
