Game 1 - Lebanon Valley 7, Gettysburg 6

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley (9-8) climbed back to a winning record with a doubleheader sweep over Gettysburg (7-4) Wednesday.

The Bullets took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game one, but the Dutchmen fought back for a seven-run second that ultimately decided a 7-6 win.

Allison Hartman opened the inning with a leadoff double to right-center and advanced on a sac bunt by Jasmine Dutton. She scored on an RBI single by Mary Readinger.

The bases loaded on a mixed bag of events: a fielding error, an illegal pitch, and a pair of walks. Readinger scored on a bases-loaded walk by Angela Harris.

Tessa Deardorff reached on a fielder's choice, driving in Chelsea Detwiler for the team's third run.

Jorie Aumiller followed with the biggest blow - a two-run double to left that scored both Deardorff and Harris and prompted a pitching change for the Bullets.

Hartman and Dutton both rang in RBI singles before the inning was out to give the Dutchmen a 7-1 lead and plenty of room for confidence.

Dutton took that confidence into the pitching circle and held the Bullets scoreless over the second, third, and fourth innings. The silence was broken in the fifth inning, when Gettysburg put five runs on the board and prompted a pitching change in favor of Samantha Shimp, who recorded the final out of the fifth.

Kristen Palmerio came on to pitch the final two innings of the game, earning her first save of the season. She allowed two hits but recorded the team's only strikeout of the game.

Game 2 - Lebanon Valley 3, Gettysburg 1

Game two brought on similar results, albeit in a lower-scoring affair. Emily Robenolt (1-1) earned her first collegiate win after holding the Bullets to just one run over four innings of work.

Robenolt allowed four hits and a walk before giving way to Palmerio, who reprised her role as closer for the day and earned her second save.

Readinger was the first to score for the Dutchmen. She walked in the second inning, stole second, and scored on a double to left-center by Harris.

The Bullets tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth when Ashley Iannone scored on a throwing error.

Steph Hulme came on as a pinch runner in the fourth and scored on another big hit by Harris - this time a single to right-center - to give the team a 2-1 lead.

Harris drove in a third run in the sixth on a single that traced the left field line deep into the outfield and scored Steffani Secola.

Palmerio kept the Bullets quiet through three innings of relief. She allowed just one hit and one walk and struck out three.

The Dutchmen host Widener Saturday at 1 p.m. in a conference doubleheader.
