Game 1 – Lebanon Valley 1, SUNY Cortland 0

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The softball team upset #13 SUNY Cortland in a 1-0 duel Saturday morning.
Kristen Palmerio stifled the Red Dragons (6-3) in her fourth shutout of the season. She allowed five hits and four walks with five strikeouts and just three runners reaching third base.
Cortland's Meaghan Kohler tried to score but was thrown out at the plate on a fielder's choice – catcher to pitcher – to keep the shutout intact.
Angela Harris scored LVC's only run as a pinch runner in the bottom of the fourth.
LVC (7-7) upset Cortland in identical fashion in the 2010 NCAA Regionals. Then ranked #21 nationally, the Dutchmen went to Ithaca and beat the Red Dragons 1-0 when they were ranked #6.
Game 2 – Lebanon Valley 6, DeSales 0
Box Score
Palmerio earned her second shutout of the day in a 6-0 win over DeSales in the late game Saturday. She was given three runs of support in the first inning, allowing her to pitch with confidence until the very end.
Second baseman
Katie Deardorff walked and advanced on a passed ball in the first inning. She advanced two bases to score on a single by Palmerio.
First baseman Allison Hartman homered to make it 3-0. The shot was Hartman's team-leading third of the season.
LVC scored three more runs in the sixth inning to clinch the win. Palmerio, Hartman, and right fielder
Steph Hulme hit consecutive singles. Hulme, Jorie Aumiller, and
Chelsea Detwiler each collected RBIs.
