CHESTER, Pa. - Playing at Widener wasn't supposed to be easy. Like the Dutchmen, the Pride are headed to the Commonwealth Conference playoffs next week. They continued to build momentum by beating the Dutchmen, 65-54, Tuesday night in Chester.

The Pride began to take control of the game in the final 11 minutes with a 16-4 run that gave them a 13-point lead with 5:25 to play. They maintained control of the game until the final buzzer.

The Dutchmen (21-3, 12-1 CC) committed 13 turnovers in the half, resulting in 17 points off turnovers for the Pride (16-7, 9-3).

Tierney Hiltz, who entered the game averaging a team-best 11.4 points per game, played the entire second half but was effectively limited to just two points on three shot attempts. She scored nine on the night.

The team shot just 30.4 percent from the field in the second half, well below the 41.3 percent season average.

Caitlin Bach led the team with 15 total points.

The Dutchmen entered the game on an 11-game winning streak; they had not lost a conference game since Feb. 9 of last season.

The Dutchmen play at Arcadia Saturday at 1 p.m. in their regular season finale. They will host the fourth-seeded team on Feb. 22 in conference semifinals.
