ANNVILLE, Pa. - A bruising defensive game by Albright limited Lebanon Valley to a single offensive score in a 26-14 Lions win at Arnold Field in the season finale.

The Dutchmen (6-4, 5-4 MAC) had a two-game win streak over the Lions (7-3, 6-3 MAC) snapped in the 92nd meeting of the rivals. Josh Borreli's 100-yard interception return for a touchdown gave LVC its only points of the first half, and Pete Panichi added a late rushing score.

The Lions racked up 403 yards in all while limiting the Dutchmen to 236 yards, including 47 on the ground.

"Albright's a good football team. We knew offensively they would be good," said Head Coach Jim Monos. "Defensively they've been playing well and they outplayed us, to be honest. They really came at us."

On Senior Day, Pete Panichi was a highlight for LVC, turning in 109 all-purpose yards with his late touchdown. Zach Groff led Albright's charge with 105 yards, and Marty Reinhardt scored twice. TJ Luddy passed for 200 yards and a touchdown; Leo Kyte went for 147 yards but had two interceptions.

Albright had two early chances to score, but both were halted by LVC's defense, limiting the visitors to a single Dan Sobolewski field goal.

LVC's big play came with Albright driving late in the second quarter; Borreli jumped Adam Galczynski's pass three yards deep in the end zone and went back 100 yards to score, only the second time in program history - and the first since John Kimmel in 1962 - to do that. It was Borelli's third pick-six of the season, as well.

It was all Lions from there, however, as they reeled off 23 unanswered points, first with Eric Wade's 37-yard catch and run to end the first half, then with another Sobolewski field goal to open the second half. Reinhardt ended back-to-back drives in the fourth quarter, with the first coming off a failed fake punt and the second off of Jake Zeigler's midfield fumble, and Panichi's touchdown with 45 seconds left was a consolation score to make it 26-14.

"We fought to the end... that was a message to the young guys," Monos said after his team scored and recovered an onside kick in the final minute to give them a chance for more points - one that ended with Matthew Hnatiuk's interception.

Mark Capetola led Albright's defense with 11 tackles, and he forced all four fumbles to go with 2.5 sacks. Zach Halpin had nine stops with a blocked field goal and a batted down pass to lead LVC.
