Lebanon Valley 58, Lycoming 44

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Tierney Hiltz looked to be on her way to a double-double when she finished the first half with 13 points and eight rebounds. She came the closest she's been all season, finishing with 19 points and nine rebounds in a 58-44 win over Lycoming Saturday afternoon.

Hiltz opened the game with a three-pointer off a dish from Renee Fritz.

Minutes later, Liz Borgia sank a pair of free throws that kicked off an 18-2 run that gave the Dutchmen (17-2, 8-0 CC) an 18-point, 25-7 lead over the Warriors (8-10, 3-5) with 5:36 to play in the half. Hiltz scored 10 of the 18, including another three-pointer and a pair of fast-break layups.

She later sparked a 9-0 run with her third trey of the game with 3:39 on the clock in the second half. Fritz and Caitlin Bach sank a pair of free throws each in the run.

Bach grabbed the final rebound of the game with 22 seconds to play, and the Dutchmen protected the ball to finalize the 58-44 win.

LVC outrebounded Lycoming 42-31 to create chances for their offense but committed 19 turnovers in the game. They played 68 total possessions.

After Hiltz, Fritz and Bach finished with eight points each.

Defensively, Caitlin Murphy led with 11 boards. Hiltz nabbed five steals--her highest total since her six takeaways at Lycoming earlier this month.

Eryn Schultz appeared long enough to sink a free throw in the first half. She played five minutes in the second half, but that was enough time to down a pair of three-pointers and bring her within seven points of the 1,000-point career mark. She would join Andrea Hoover and Suzie Noyes as members of the 2007-08 freshman class to reach the milestone.

Next up, the Dutchmen play at Messiah Wednesday night at 6 p.m. and at Alvernia Saturday at 1 p.m.
