Lebanon Valley 74, Albright 42
READING, Pa. - #21 Lebanon Valley remained undefeated in conference play Saturday with a 74-42 win at Albright.
The Dutchmen (15-2, 6-0 CC) got a balanced offensive attack throughout the game with four players in double-digit scoring and another two with nine points.
LVC created separation early on with a 11-2 run that buried the memory of a 19-19 tie.
Gia Russo kicked things off with her second three-pointer of the season with 11:25 in the half. She scored five points during the rally and a team-high 10 in the half.
The Dutchmen closed out the half with a 10-point lead at 41-31. They opened the second half on a 12-3 run led by
Liz Borgia, who had a pair of successful layups.
To seal the win, they kept the Lions (4-13, 0-6) scoreless for the final 5:37. The Dutchmen closed the game with a final 9-0 run built entirely by their bench.
Courtney Escudero and
Taylor Gerchak both scored four points in the run.
Renee Fritz and
Caitlin Bach shared the team scoring lead with 12 points each. Russo and
Kiely Chaklos finished with 10 points each.
Coming off of its worst shooting game of the season, LVC shot a season-high 53.6 (30-for-56) percent from the field. Bach shot a perfect 5-for-5.
As another testament to the balance of the team, 13 players entered the game and 12 of them grabbed at least one rebound.
Caitlin Murphy led with seven boards.
The Dutchmen host Widener Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 6 p.m.
