SELINGSGROVE, Pa. – Finishing non-conference action, Lebanon Valley softball split a doubleheader with Susquehanna Wednesday afternoon. The teams traded shutouts with the Dutchmen taking game one 1-0 and the Crusaders posting a 2-0 win in the nightcap.

GAME ONE
Kristen Palmerio led the team in both offense and defense, scoring the only run and picking up the win in the circle. Pitching the complete game, she allowed just four hits and struck out a season-high nine batters.

Susquehanna threatened in the first inning with the leadoff runner reaching third base, but back-to-back strikeouts left the runner stranded.

Limited to three hits, Lebanon Valley had two runners reach base in the second and one in the sixth inning. The Dutchmen broke through in the fourth inning after a leadoff triple by Palmerio, her team-leading four of the year that tied the single season record. The Crusaders stayed tough, forcing a pop up and groundout for two outs, but a single by Marisa Krause sent Palmerio home for the only run.

The Crusaders put two runners on base in the fourth and seventh innings, and had one reach base in the fifth. Tough pitching by Palmerio held Susquehanna off for her second shutout of the season.

GAME TWO
Held to three hits, Katie Deardorff notched two while Chelsea Kehr registered the other hit for LVC. Laura Snyder limited Susquehanna to two hits and struck out five in the loss.

A single by Deardorff and walk to Allison Hartman put two runners on base in the first inning for Lebanon Valley. Susquehanna forced one out on a fielder's choice and a strikeout ended the inning, leaving both runners in the base paths.

The Dutchmen looked to strike in the sixth inning. Kehr opened with a single up the middle and stole second. A sacrifice bunt single by Deardorff advanced Kehr to third and a walk to Katie Freeman loaded the bases, but Susquehanna forced a fly out to center to end the inning.

Susquehanna scored the game's only runs in the bottom of the sixth. A one out walk and fielder's choice put two runners on for the Crusaders. A hit by pitch loaded the bases, setting up Kathryn Gilbert's two RBI single to center.

Lebanon Valley wraps up the regular season on Saturday, hosting Arcadia at 1 p.m. for a doubleheader.
