Box Score

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Behind hat tricks from Derek Kline and Cory Boushell, Elizabethtown held Lebanon Valley scoreless in the first half on the way to a 13-2 win on Tuesday.

The win kept Elizabethtown (7-6, 5-5 MAC) alive in a critical game in the MAC playoff race, while ending any chance the Dutchmen (5-10, 3-7 MAC), who had to win their final two games to make the postseason field of six.

The Blue Jays dominated the game offensively with a 41-29 shots advantage (24-10 in the first half), and they also had an outstanding defensive effort as Brendan Corcoran made 11 saves.

Malik Pedroso and Jordan Mayr provided the scoring for LVC, with Ian Schmid picking up an assist.

A slow start to the game picked up quickly as the Blue Jays scored six in the final six minutes of the first quarter, starting with two strikes from Kyle Squires around a Boushell goal, and then with three in the final 2:50 on goals by Kline, Derek Neiheiser, and Sean McGraw.

E-town added two more in the second quarter and another to start the third before LVC got on the board with Mayr's tally midway through the third, making it 9-1. Despite 19 second-half shots, however, the Dutchmen couldn't get back into the game, with Pedroso's goal to start the fourth their only other score.

Bryan Lockward made seven saves in the first half and took the loss; Mike Moll (4 saves) and Ethan Hilberg (2 saves) provided relief. Corcoran stopped 11 to earn the win, and Adam Moore made three saves in 4:42 of clean-up.

LVC will host Manhattanville on Saturday in the season finale.
