Messiah Flies Away From M. Lax, 15-5

Men's Lacrosse
Messiah 15, Lebanon Valley 5

Box Score

GRANTHAM, Pa.
- A seven-goal third quarter by Messiah broke apart Lebanon Valley's defensive stand as the Falcons took a 15-5 decision in MAC play Thursday night.

The Dutchmen (5-9, 3-6 MAC) had withstood a 24-10 first-half shots deficit to only be down 6-3 at the break, but a 7-0 run in the second quarter by the Falcons (10-3, 8-1 MAC) gave them full control of the game.

Jordan Mayr led LVC with a pair of goals, and Ian Schmid, CJ Adams, and Scott Sutton had a goal apiece. Brian Meenan's four led Messiah, with two-goal games from Phil Wendt, Kyle Sproles, and Kevan Schellenburg.

Messiah dominated offensively with a 48-21 shots advantage overall, and controlled face-offs 16-9. Midfield transition was also key, with LVC completing just 13-of-25 clears to Messiah's 16-of-17.

LVC Bryan Lockward made 15 saves - 10 in the first half - but took the loss in 45:00 of play. Mike Moll and Kevin Krasley split the fourth quarter. Zach Cureton earned the win with eight stops.

LVC will return home to face Elizabethtown on Tuesday.
