CLERMONT, Fla. – Lebanon Valley softball opened the 2011 campaign with two games on Monday. The Dutchmen dropped the first contest 3-0 to TCNJ before registering a 5-4 win over Monmouth.

In game one, TCNJ used a three-run third inning to claim the win. A double started the inning off and a single put a runner in scoring position. The Lions third batter hit a triple to score both runners and a fly ball later in the inning scored the final run.

The Dutchmen had a chance to break onto the scoreboard in the fourth and sixth innings, but the Lions held tight for the 3-0 win.
