Box Score

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – #17/#16 Lebanon Valley clinched its second-straight Commonwealth Conference regular-season title with a 62-53 win over Elizabethtown Wednesday evening. Senior Andrea Hoover led the Dutchmen, scoring 20 points with six assists to become LVC's all-time assists leader.

Hoover was one of three players to score 10 or more points as Tierney Hiltz notched 11 and Liz Borgia added 10 points. Caitlin Murphy, Caitlin Bach and Hoover each grabbed seven rebounds for LVC in the win.

The Dutchmen (22-2, 12-1 CC) can breathe easy with one game left to play against Alvernia Saturday in the regular season finale set to begin at 1 p.m. LVC can be tied by Messiah in the standings, but the Dutchmen own the tiebreaker over the Falcons by virtue of Messiah's loss to Widener (LVC swept Widener).

Hoover entered the game tied with Crystal Gibson '05 for the all-time assists record, and broke it with her first helper. She now stands alone at 534 career assists.

Elizabethtown started with an early lead until Bach put Lebanon Valley on the scoreboard with a jumper. A layup by Hoover at 13:09 gave the Dutchmen their first lead of the contest. The Blue Jays regained the advantage shortly after and maintained it for over the next five minutes. Hoover struck again at 7:32 to put Lebanon Valley back up and stayed ahead until Elizabethtown tied the score at 27 in the final minute of the first half.

Returning from the break, the Blue Jays hit two free-throws for a two point lead. LVC maintained the advantage for the remainder of the contest, holding off a comeback attempt from Elizabethtown. Two free-throws from Murphy and a layup by Hiltz ended the game and secured the 53-62 win.

Lebanon Valley shot 52% from the floor and 80% at the free-throw line for the game.
