Women's Basketball
#11/9 Lebanon Valley 72, Albright 36

Box Score

READING, Pa. - Senior Andrea Hoover tied the Lebanon Valley College all-time assists record as she turned in a near triple-double of 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists in #11/9 LVC's dominating 72-36 win over Albright on Saturday.

Hoover entered the game needing eight assists to tie Crystal Gibson '05's career total of 528.

With the win, the Dutchmen (21-2, 11-1 CC) secured at least a home Commonwealth Conference semifinal game on Feb. 23. They can clinch at least a share of the regular-season title with a win Tuesday at Elizabethtown, or with a Messiah loss to Arcadia later Saturday night.

LVC's forwards paced them in a hot-shooting first-half with Caitlin Bach (16 points, 7 rebounds) and Liz Borgia (15 points) controlling the game in the paint. The Dutchmen shot 61.5% in the first half on the way to 52.7% for the game.

Jessica McGinniss paced Albright with 13 points. The Lions were held to 24.5% shooting overall, including just 4-for-27 (14.8%) in the second half.

A 22-4 LVC run sandwiched around halftime helped blow open a close game, turning a 22-18 score late in the first half into a 44-22 blowout three minutes into the second half.

LVC went into the half leading 35-22, and quickly ballooned the lead with opening baskets by Bach and Hoover. Albright finally stopped the run with a Rose Williamson basket, but another 13-0 run cemented a huge 33-point lead with 11:26 left to play.
