If You Only Know Five Things...
1. LVC and Widener have the MAC's two top offenses; Widener leads the league with 46.4 points and 461.3 yards per game, while LVC is second with 38.3 points and 446.8 yards per game.
2. Lebanon Valley is 5-1 for the second time in three seasons after not having achieved the record since 1979. LVC could improve to 6-1 for only the second time since winning the MAC title in 1961.
3. Guiles is third in the nation in scoring; he is also eight points away from becoming LVC's all-time leading scorer after becoming the combined rushing and receiving TD leader last week.
4. Colt Zarilla has had an outstanding senior year at quarterback, ranking seventh in the nation in pass efficiency while throwing 13 touchdowns. He has not thrown an interception in the last three games.
5. LVC will be trying to win its fourth game in a row against Widener; that has not happened since a four-game streak from 1950 to 1953.

Series History
The game is the 67th meeting all-time ... Widener leads the series 40-24-2 ... LVC has won two in a row, in overtime at home two years ago 20-13, a 24-0 shutout in Chester in 2010, and then a 42-38 comeback thriller last year ... Coach Jim Monos is 6-12 against the Pride ... The two teams first met on Nov. 30, 1933, a scoreless tie. Widener was still known as Pennsylvania Military College until 1972.

Noting LVC's Offense
The offensive two-deep is expected to be unchanged from a week ago ... The Dutchmen, with their 51-7 win over FDU-Florham, averaged 7.4 yards per play while generating 497 yards of offense and going 6-for-6 in the red zone ...  Ben Guiles continued his historic season with a 148-yard, two-touchdown effort on just 14 carries against FDU-Florham ... He scored on the game's opening drive and then again to end the first quarter on a 45-yard breakout ... It was Guiles' 15th career 100-yard game ... Colt Zarilla threw three touchdowns as part of an 18-for-26, 219-yard day ... Backup Leo Kyte completed just one pass but it was for a touchdown, a 14-yard catch-and-run to Evan Fink  ... Tim Picerno had another good outing, catching five passes for 56 yards with two touchdowns ... Jake Zeigler caught Zarilla's other TD strike, part of a two-catch, 44-yard day ... In all, 10 different players caught a pass: Picerno, Zeigler, Guiles, Fink, Kelly Saylor, Yahya McIntyre, Pete Panichi, Alex Kirchner, and Matt Mankiewicz ... Kirchner returned from injury and caught a touchdown that was called back on an illegal block ... While Guiles carried the rushing load, Blair Ransom had a solid game with six carries for 50 yards, and Conrad Heisey ran eight times for 25 yards ... With injuries taking a toll on the unit, LVC put out its fourth different starting o-line in six games ... C Sam Colletts and RG Matt Clark are the only two linemen to start all six games this season.

Noting LVC's Defense
The defensive two-deep remains unchanged from the FDU-Florham game ... LVC had a dominating pass defense against FDU-Florham, allowing just 76 yards on 12 completions, with Ryan Melley grabbing an interception ... FDU was held to 4-of-15 on third-downs and 1-of-4 on fourth down, with their only scoring play coming on a spectacular 58-yard effort by quarterback Mike Larson to end the first half ... OLB Macke Hall highlighted the defense's day with a 10-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the first quarter ... Hall also had four tackles ... ILB Andrew Burkholder started in place of injured Jason Gigous, making three tackles but also breaking up a pass and recording a hurry ... It snapped a 17-game start streak for Gigous ... CB Jerome Duncan put up another good game with five tackles, two of them for a loss ... DE Cory Homer led all tacklers with eight stops ... NT Kevin Smith made five tackles ... OLB Todd Mika saw significant playing time with five tackles and one for a loss ... OLB Andrew Hurst returned to start on the outside after missing two games to injury, making three stops with one for a loss ... SS Dave Hallinan also had a pass break-up ... LVC did not record a sack.

Noting LVC's Specialists
LVC's kick return unit leads the MAC and is ranked ninth in the nation with a 26.1 yards per return average ... Kicker Sean Fakete had a tough task with 30 mile-per-hour crosswinds buffeting Arnold Field during the FDU-Florham game, but he managed to hit a 31-yard field goal and go 6-for-7 on PATs ... He also averaged 51 yards per kickoff ... Colt Zarilla punted twice, including a 52-yard boomer, and both punts were downed inside the 20 ... Jake Zeigler punted once in the second half, a 30-yarder ... Pete Panichi had another excellent return day, taking the opening kickoff back 41 yards to set up LVC's first touchdown ... Macke Hall ended up with the other return on a shorted kickoff, taking it for eight yards ... LVC had a fumbled punt return for the second week in a row as Zeigler couldn't control a bouncing ball and FDU recovered in the first quarter.

Guiles Named to MAC Honor Roll
Ben Guiles was named to the Middle Atlantic Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Sunday; it's Guiles' third MAC honor of the season as he was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week the two weeks prior. Guiles ran for 148 yards and two touchdowns on just 14 carries as he led Lebanon Valley in the 51-7 rout of FDU-Florham.

Another Week, Another Record
Already breaking the career rushing touchdowns mark, Ben Guiles became the total touchdowns record holder last week, scoring his 43rd combined rushing/receiving/return touchdown to surpass Adam Brossman '08. Guiles has a couple more records to go: he is just eight points back of Brossman for the all-time scoring record of 266. The rushing yardage mark is a bit further off - Guiles needs 368 yards to surpass Charlie Parker '10's 3,707 yards.

Seniors Make History
With the Oktoberfest Weekend win over FDU-Florham, LVC's senior class achieved something that hadn't been done in 35 years: they became the first senior class since the Class of '77 to win all four of their homecoming games. The Class of '77 won four straight from 1973 to 1976.

LVC Receives More Top 25 Votes
With a 5-1 record, voters are starting to notice the Dutchmen, who nearly doubled their vote total in the d3football.com top 25 poll with 11 in Sunday's poll. LVC has hung around the “also receiving votes” category all year, receiving six last week.

LVC Among National Stat Leaders
Lebanon Valley's name is all over the latest NCAA Division III statistical rankings. Ben Guiles is third in the nation in scoring (15.0 points per game) and third in touchdowns (15), while ranking 32nd in rushing yardage (106.8). Colt Zarilla is sixth in Division III in passing efficiency at 173.5, while Sean Fakete ranks 31st in field goals, averaging one per game. Widener Quick Look
Widener has one of the nation's highest-scoring offenses, dropping a MAC-best 46.4 points per game and scoring 50+ in each of their last three games, including a 70-0 blowout of King's in Week 5. They have been led by a standout passing game led by quarterback Chris Haupt, who has thrown for 2,014 yards and 22 touchdowns. Favored target Cedric Clayton has caught 606 yards of passes for six touchdowns, but the Pride spread the ball around with 11 different receivers having a touchdown this season, including four for Anthony Clayton. On the ground, Widener has a solid running game led by Terrant Morrison's 309 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, Widener has limited opponents to just 284 yards of offense and 15 points per game, led by Dylan Ditmer's 46 tackles and 33 tackles (12.5 for a loss) and seven sacks by Chad Gravinese. Widener has 18 sacks this year while allowing just six; turnovers have been an issue, however, and the Pride are -2 for the season.
