Box Score

ANNVILLE, Pa. - #4 Lebanon Valley reeled off 51 shots as it won its fourth straight shutout with an 8-0 victory over Albright in the Commonwealth Conference opener.

Junior Jocelyn Novak moved into second on LVC's all-time scoring list with two goals, putting her at 80 for her career. She moved past Steph Marguglio '07 by doing something she hadn't done before in her collegiate career, scoring a penalty stroke in the 44th minute. Novak is now eight goals away from Barb Hall Streeter '72's career goals record of 88.

Sophomore Caitlin Vasey and senior Shelly Lobach also scored twice, and Marisa Maxwell and Allison Bicher added goals for the Dutchmen (7-0, 1-0 CC).

The goals didn't come easily at first for LVC as they took 18 shots before Vasey hit a breakaway and scored at 18:46. Maxwell poked in Novak's cross five minutes later, then assisted on Vasey's second goal at 26:59 to give LVC a 3-0 halftime lead despite a huge 33-1 first-half shots disparity.

Bicher opened the second half with a goal off two-man break with Vasey, and Novak converted from the spot with her first career stroke at 43:45. The junior added her second goal - and 80th of her career - less than three minutes later off Bicher's assist.

Lobach finished the scoring with two goals, first as she redirected a blast from the arc by Rachel Pantalone off a corner at 51:00, and then with a hard-hit through shot from the arc at 54:47.

Christine Poletti (52:34 of time) and Chloe Baro (17:26) did not have to make a save as they extended their combined scoreless streak to 331:14; Marguerite DeLucas was outstanding under fire, making 31 saves. Madison Bailey added a defensive stop for Albright (6-4, 1-1 CC).

LVC finished with 51-1 shots advantage; the Lions' only try rang the post early in the first half.

Lebanon Valley stays at home to host Susquehanna on Thursday.
