ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley field hockey Head Coach
Amber Corcoran '09, M'24 will retire from her position after 10 seasons leading the Dutchmen. Corcoran's final day at LVC will be May 31.
"On behalf of our Athletic Department, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Coach Amber Corcoran for her dedication, leadership, and the countless contributions she has made to our field hockey program over the years," stated
Patrick Ratke, Director of Athletics. "Her commitment to our student-athletes, on and off the field, has left a lasting impact. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors and know she will continue to inspire wherever her journey takes her."
Corcoran, pursuing a career change, leaves the college as the third-winningest coach in program history, compiling a 93-76 record. She returned to her alma mater in 2016 after prior seasons as head coach at Immaculata University and Stevens Institute of Technology. She has spent the past decade guiding the Dutchmen through a competitive era that included multiple conference postseason appearances and one of the program's most successful stretches in recent years. During her tenure, Lebanon Valley compiled 93 victories and reached the postseason seven times, including appearances in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Championship game and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship game in 2019. She was named conference Coach of the Year in 2019 after leading the program back to the conference title game for the first time in nearly a decade.
Under Corcoran's leadership, LVC student-athletes earned significant individual recognition. Her players combined for 40 All-Conference selections, nine NFHCA All-Region honors, and one NFHCA All-American. She coached three conference Offensive Players of the Year and one conference Defensive Player of the Year, while mentoring one of the program's elite scorers in Cecile Kat, who surpassed 100 career points and later earned All-America recognition.
Corcoran's teams also excelled academically. The program earned seven NFHCA National Academic Team Awards, with 185 student-athletes recognized on the NFHCA National Academic Squad and 30 named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction during her tenure. LVC student-athletes also collected numerous conference and national academic honors, including selections to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team and the MAC Academic Honor Roll.
Prior to her coaching career, Corcoran was a standout defender for Lebanon Valley as a student-athlete from 2005–08. She helped lead the Dutchmen to two NCAA Division III Final Four appearances and the 2006 conference championship. Individually, Corcoran was named an NFHCA Third-Team All-American in 2008, earned First-Team All-Region honors, and was selected to the All-Conference First Team.
"It has been an incredible honor to coach at Lebanon Valley College," said Corcoran. "This program and this institution have meant so much to me, first as a student-athlete and later as a coach. I am grateful for the relationships I've built with our student-athletes, alumni, and colleagues over the years, and I will always cherish my time at LVC."
Lebanon Valley College will begin a national search for the program's next head field hockey coach.
