ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - Ian Schmid's first career hat trick wasn't enough for LVC as Eastern University jumped out to a 7-0 first-quarter lead on the way to an 18-6 win on Saturday.

The Dutchmen (2-11, 0-9 MAC) had three goals and an assist from Schmid and two goals by Jimmy Black but couldn't overcome 44 shots by the Eagles (11-3, 8-1 MAC), who led 13-1 at the half.

Eastern won 20 of 28 face-offs and scooped up 54 ground balls as they were led by Cal Napolitano's three goals and three assists.

Ethan Hilberg made nine saves in the loss for LVC. Eastern combined three goalies, with Aaron Benz making seven saves to get the win.

LVC will host Lycoming on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
