ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley softball recorded its fourth-straight win after sweeping a doubleheader with Ursinus Tuesday afternoon, posting 2-1 and 3-0 wins. Junior Meghan Donoghue batted in both runs for LVC in the first game, while freshman Steffani Secola and senior Allie Davies both went 2-for-3 in the nightcap.

Donoghue's double in the fifth inning of the first game tied the school record for most doubles in a single season. She now shares the title with Sam Rill '02.

GAME ONE
Ursinus struck first, scoring one run in the third inning with a solo home run to right field by Allison Pfrommer for the 1-0 lead.

The Dutchmen had runners in scoring position in the first three innings, but Ursinus starting pitcher Lauren Davis-Macedonia stranded the runners on the base paths. Lebanon Valley reached the scoreboard in the fifth, scoring two runs. Sophomore Kerri Datres opened the inning with a single and classmate Kristen Palmerio continued with a bunt for a single. Both runners scored off a double to the right field fence from Donoghue.

Junior Val Malizzia recorded her 11th win of the season, allowing one run on four hits. She struck out two through seven innings.

GAME TWO
Starting pitcher Laura Snyder started strong, striking out five of the first seven batters she faced, including all three in the second inning.

LVC struck early in the first game with Datres opening with a triple to deep right. A sacrifice fly from Palmerio sent Datres home for the 1-0 lead in the first inning.

The Dutchmen took a two run lead in the fourth with a single by Davies scoring the run. LVC added another run in the fifth for a 3-0 advantage. Datres drew a walk to start the inning and advanced to second off a sacrifice bunt by Palmerio. Secola then hit a single to center, scoring Datres.

Snyder pitched the complete game, tallying her sixth shutout of the year. She allowed just three hits, a walk and struck out 12 batters.

LVC travels to Wilkes on Thursday for a doubleheader beginning at 3:30 p.m.
