Box Score

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Messiah used relentless offense and tough defense to defeat Lebanon Valley, 15-0, in men's lacrosse Thursday at Arnold Field.

The Dutchmen (2-5, 0-3 MAC) couldn't kickstart their offense as they were held to just 16 shots by the Falcons (3-4, 2-1 MAC).

LVC played a solid first period, getting five shots in and spotting Messiah just a 1-0 lead on Kyle Sproles' goal with 16 seconds left.

But the Falcons erupted for five goals in the second, starting James Baden's man-up goal 1:05 in and then with two in a row by Nate Windon to open up a 4-0 lead. Heathy Kupecky and Eric Petters scored to give Messiah a 6-0 lead at the break, and nine more second-half goals finished out the win as Messiah outshot LVC 51-16 overall.

Against the MAC's second-best face-off unit, LVC's Scott Sutton had his best game of the year in the middle, winning 12 of 18 face-offs. Messiah came in winning over 67 percent of face-offs.

Ethan Hilberg made a career-high 18 saves for LVC. Josh Stewart played most of the shutout for Messiah and made nine stops; Zach Cureton had a save in just under 10 minutes of relief.

LVC will visit Elizabethtown on Tuesday.
