WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - King's College jumped out to a big early lead as they handed Lebanon Valley College a 15-3 loss in LVC's Middle Atlantic Conference debut on Wednesday.
The Dutchmen (2-3, 0-1 MAC) gave up seven goals to the Monarchs (3-2, 1-0 MAC) in the first quarter as King's led wire-to-wire for the win.
King's ripped off 44 shots and held LVC to just 10.
Ian Schmid had two goals and
Ty Fosnacht scored the other for LVC.
The Monarchs' Dan Carducci and Brendan Novotny each scored four, and Rusty Booth had three goals and three assists.
King's outscored LVC 7-1 in the first quarter, and worked a stretch of seven straight goals between the end of the first and middle of the second quarters to open up a 10-1 lead. Schmid got a goal back before the half, but the Monarchs scored four straight to open the second half to put the game away.
Ethan Hilberg made 14 saves in the loss; counterpart Kenny Cernuto stopped three.
LVC will host Widener on Saturday.
