CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Lebanon Valley softball team traveled to DeSales Sunday afternoon, posting two wins. Junior Marisa Krause went 2-for-3 at the plate in the first game with an RBI, while Kerri Datres was 3-for-3 with two runs in the nightcap.

In game one, Krause started the third inning with a solo home run to left field, her first of the season to put LVC on the scoreboard. The Dutchmen added a run in the sixth when sophomore Steph Hulme drew a walk with the bases loaded to send a run home.

Sophomore Kristen Palmerio started in the circle for LVC, pitching the complete game. She held DeSales scoreless and allowed just three hits while posting four strikeouts.

Junior Val Malizzia started for the Dutchmen in the second game, pitching four innings. She allowed two runs on six hits and notched two strikeouts in her sixth win of the season. Classmate Laura Snyder relieved her, pitching the final three innings and striking out three. Snyder held the Bulldogs scoreless and allowed just one hit for her first save of the season.

Freshman Steffani Secola and junior Katie Freeman both posted two RBIs in the second game to lead LVC to a 6-2 win.

Datres opened the game with a double to left center and moved to third base after a sacrifice bunt from Palmerio. Secola then hit a single through the right side to score Datres and take an early 1-0 lead.

LVC added to its lead in the third inning, scoring four runs. Datres hit a single to right center and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Palmerio then sent Datres home with a single up the middle and Kristen Uhas notched a single to right. Secola continued with a double to right center, scoring another run and Freeman followed up with a two-run home run to left field. The homer was the second for Lebanon Valley on the afternoon and third in as many games.

DeSales recorded two runs in the fourth inning to cut LVC's lead to three, but the Dutchmen responded in the fifth with a single up the middle from Snyder to score a run to put the team ahead by four.

The Dutchmen improve to 11-3 on the season and host Gettysburg Wednesday for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
