ANNVILLE, Pa. – Led by three goals from Lisa Wingard, #1 Messiah cruised to an 8-0 win over Lebanon Valley College women's soccer Tuesday afternoon at Herbert Field. The loss dropped the Dutchmen to 9-7-2 on the season, 2-3-1 in the Commonwealth Conference.

With one game remaining in the regular season, the conference playoff race is tightening. LVC needs to beat Widener on Saturday, and have Messiah beat or tie Elizabethtown, to get into the playoffs. LVC could be the #3 or #4 seed, depending on the result of the Arcadia-Alvernia game.

Holding a 14-4 shot advantage, Messiah opened the game with two goals in the first ten minutes for the early lead. Amanda Naeher scored the first after Corinne Wulf dribbled the ball down the right side and crossed it in front. Wulf tallied the next goal and the Falcons added another at 23:42 off a throw in from the right side.

Messiah added five more goals in the second half, including another goal from Naeher and Wulf. The Falcons held LVC to just one shot in the final frame.

Stevi Laird totaled two shots for LVC, while Nicole Snyder, Ely Kirkhoff and Lindi Crist each notched one.

Sami Young started in goal, playing 68:07 and making six saves. Becca Sykes played the remainder of the game for LVC. Autumn Reilly played the complete game for Messiah, making three saves.

LVC closes out the regular season on Saturday when they host Widener at 12 p.m. The Dutchmen will celebrate their six seniors along with holding the first ever Pink on the Pitch game.
