ANNVILLE, Pa. -
Jocelyn Novak scored her fifth consecutive hat trick to lead #2 Lebanon Valley past Arcadia, 8-0, on Oktoberfest Saturday in Annville.
The Dutchmen (14-0, 3-0 CC) were never tested by the Knights (8-7, 1-3 CC) as they outshot them 30-5, including 24-6 in the first half.
Before the game, LVC honored its nine seniors, who won their 73rd game together: Sam Shober,
Rachel Pantalone,
Lauren Seidenstricker,
Shelly Lobach,
Martita Bowersox,
Allison Bicher,
Cait Eckenrode,
Marisa Maxwell, and
Jenna McNamee.
Caitlin Vasey added two goals and had her NCAA-best 21st assist of the year, and Eckenrode, Maxwell, and Lobach added tallies.
Novak extended her hat trick streak and finished the game with 98 career goals and 31 for the season. She will have a chance to be the sixth player in NCAA Division III history to reach 100 goals.
Eckenrode began the scoring at 7:28 when she put in a rebound, and Maxwell added her eighth of the year on a volley off Novak's assist at 16:06.
Novak scored twice off assists by Bicher and Vasey, and Vasey hit twice before the half, first off a penalty corner and then thanks to a cross by
Kirsten Martzall.
LVC tacked on two more in the second as Lobach picked one out of a scramble and Novak scored on a two-man break with Lobach.
Christine Poletti did face a shot in the first half, and
Chloe Baro made one save in the second. Sarah Baumgardner had 13 saves for Arcadia. Shots were 30-5; corners 14-12, both in favor of LVC.
LVC will face its biggest game of the year Wednesday, hosting #3 Messiah at 4 p.m.
