WBB Tops Lycoming At The End, 65-60

Box Score

ANNVILLE, Pa. -
Senior Megan Bish drained a go-ahead three-pointer with 37 seconds left in the game, then made a pair of game-icing free throws as Lebanon Valley topped Lycoming in the final minute, 65-60, in Commonwealth Conference play Wednesday.

The Dutchmen (10-3,. 3-0 CC) remained undefeated in conference play to set up a showdown for first place with #17 Messiah on Saturday. LVC was led by Suzie Noyes' double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Bish had 13 points and eight boards, both off the bench.

The Warriors (9-3, 1-2 CC) were paced by Andrea Cooper's 20 points, including her 1,000th career point midway through the first half. Kaitlyn Ober added 15 points and 10 boards.

LVC picked off 12 steals, including six in a three-minute span late in the second half that saw the Dutchmen hold Lycoming scoreless and take the lead.

Lycoming retook the lead with back-to-back fouls hots by Jessica Nabholz and Cooper, and after Caitlin Murphy's free throws tied the game at 56, Cooper hit a jumper to take the lead again.

However, Noyes came down the floor and made a shot to tie the game, then drained a short-range jumper to take the lead, 60-58, with 2:20 to go. Neither team would score again for the next 1:30 until Ober made a game-tying jumper with 50 seconds to go.

With a chance to go up, Eryn Schultz drove the lane but kicked out to a wide-open Bish, who buried the go-ahead three-pointer, then grabbed the rebound off Jessica Zerbee's three-point try at the other end. Bish was then sent to the line and made both shots with 17 seconds left, and Lycoming, despite taking three shots, couldn't find a final bucket.
