Women's Hoops Outlasts Albright, 64-58

Box Score

READING, Pa
. - The Lebanon Valley College women's basketball team picked up a key Commonwealth Conference win Saturday, holding off Albright College 64-58.

The Dutchmen (9-3, 2-0 CC) got 21 points from Lori Lidlow as they overcame a first-half lead by the Lions (8-6, 0-2 CC).

Suzie Noyes came off the bench for 14 points and five rebounds, while Andrea Hoover and Eryn Schultz added 11 points apiece. Bre Dillion had 21 points for Albright, and Annie McMahon drained 20.

LVC committed just 14 turnovers while inducing 21 Albright giveaways. LVC scored 30 of their 64 points off turnovers. Bench production was a huge factor, with the Dutchmen scoring 21 thanks to reserves and Albright garnering just six points from its bench.

The game was a close one, with LVC taking an early lead before a 10-point swing gave Albright a six-point lead midway through the first quarter. However, the Dutchmen would storm back to take the lead on Lidlow's three-pointer with 2:39 left in the half, and never trailed after that.

Albright never let LVC get up by more than eight early in the second, cutting the lead to a point several times in the second half, including the final time on McMahon's jumper with 11:34 to go. LVC responded with a 7-0 run keyed by a Schultz trey, and the Dutchmen extended the lead to 10 with a pair of foul shots by Noyes with 4:25 to go.

The Lions pulled within five on Dillon's layup with just over a minute to go, but Lidlow hit a pair of foul shots and Albright missed three straight three-point tries - despite grabbing the offensive board every time - in the final minute.

LVC returns home Wednesday night to face Lycoming.
