LVC 31, Ursinus 19
LVC ran out to a 31-7 lead and never looked back as it came away with a 31-19 win at Ursinus last Saturday. The Dutchmen were led by Joe Brennan's 104 yards receiving and two touchdowns, and quarterback Caleb Fick went 11-of-19 for 206 yards and three TDs. The LVC defense held the Bears to 258 yards of total offense, including 45 yards on the ground. Ursinus fumbled the ball eight times, with LVC picking up four of them. Matt Donley also caught a touchdown, one of four catches overall, and Charlie Parker added a rushing score as LVC scored 31 unanswered points after the Bears' Nick Dye opened the scoring with a first-quarter touchdown. Dan DiBona also tacked on a 29-yard field goal.

Parker Reaches 2,000 Yards
With 80 yards at Ursinus, junior running back Charlie Parker reached the career 2,000-yard rushing mark, becoming only the fourth Dutchmen to do so. He joins Rick Coleman (3,106 yards), Ken Wilson (2,305 yards), and Pete Henning (2,203 yards) on the all-time list.

With Honors, Week 2
Junior wide receiver Joe Brennan was named to the MAC Weekly Honor Roll this week after catching four passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns against Ursinus. It is Brennan's first MAC weekly accolade.

Scouting Moravian
The Greyhounds have had an impressive start, going 2-0 after a blowout 42-3 win at McDaniel last weekend. They have been led by the two-headed rushing attack of Tyler McCambridge and Tyler deRouen, who have 226 and 224 yards, respectively, this season. In their two games, Moravian has averaged 311.5 yards per game on the ground. Marc Braxmeier has been solid under center, completing 21 of 32 passes for 243 yards and three touchdowns.

Noting LVC's 2-0 Start...
The last time LVC was 2-0 was 1979, when it started 4-0 en route to a 5-4 season ... In September 1979, Jimmy Carter was President, ESPN was launched, disco was dying, and the U.S. government bailed out the Chrysler Corporation from bankruptcy ... LVC had won its season opener five times since then while failing to win the follow-up ... LVC has only been 3-0 six times, in 1979, 1969, 1968, 1961, 1960, and 1952.

Last Year
Moravian edged LVC, 19-18, in a thriller in Bethlehem last season. After a Charlie Parker touchdown gave the Dutchmen an 18-12 lead in the fourth quarter, Moravian drove and scored the go-ahead touchdown on Marc Braxmeier's pass to Kris Bisci.

Series Notes
Today's game is the 66th meeting all-time between LVC and Moravian ... Moravian has won seven of the
last eight and holds a 33-31-1 advantage all-time ... The two teams have split their last two, with each winning at home ... LVC last won in 2006, a 55-21 romp at Arnold Field ... Head Coach Jim Monos is 3-12 against the Greyhounds ... The two teams first met on Oct. 19, 1901, an 11-5 Moravian win ... LVC has never won on Sept. 20, and is 0-7 all-time.

Lebanon Valley 19, Gettysburg 13
Junior Charlie Parker racked up 210 all-purpose yards and had two touchdowns as Lebanon Valley held off a Gettysburg comeback to win their season opener, 19-13, last weekend. The game was played in the driving rain and wind of Tropical Storm Hanna, and was delayed twice due to lightning. The Dutchmen ran out to a 19-0 lead before giving up two third-quarter touchdowns to the Bullets, who drove nearly the length of the field at the end of the fourth quarter but fell short in a comeback bid. Sophomore quarterback Caleb Fick completed 8-of-16 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns, including an 82-yard strike to Parker in the first half.

Drive Stopping
If you consider the concept of a “drive stop” - that is, the play the defense makes to force the offense into either punting or turning the ball over on downs, by fumble, or by interception - the LVC defense has had a penchant for big plays this season. Of 16 drive stops, five have been by tackle, and 11 were by sack, fumble, interception, or pass break-up.

Next Week
The Dutchmen are idle next week before heading to Wilkes University on Oct. 4.
