Lauren (Frankford) Salerno completed her 10th season as head coach of the Lebanon Valley College women’s soccer team in 2013. She also serves as an assistant athletic director at LVC in charge of business operations.

Salerno led her team to an 11-9-2 overall mark in 2013, advacing to the Commonwealth Conference semifinals and the ECAC Tournament.

Alexa Muffly and Heather Tran earned First Team and Honorable Mention All-Conference selections, respectively, while both also made the NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic team. Additionally, Muffly was an ECAC South First Team All Star.

Salerno's squad finished 12-8-1 in 2012, reaching both the Commonwealth Conference Championship and ECAC South semifinals.

Four players were named All-Commonwealth selections - three to the first team, including Nicole Snyder who set LVC records in career points and goals. Three players were named All-Mid Atlantic selections and the team was named a Team Academic Award winner - all by the NSCAA.

Her team finished 13-6-3 in 2011 and reached the Commonwealth Conference finals, where they lost to top-seeded Messiah. The Dutchmen received an at-large bid to their first NCAA Division III Championship Tournament in program history.

For her efforts, Salerno was named Commonwealth Conference Coach of the Year. Three players were named all-conference, including Snyder who was named conference Player of the Year and later an NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Women's Division III All-American.

In 2010, the team finished with a 10-9-2 overall record and went on to appear in the Commonwealth Conference tournament for the third time under Salerno’s leadership. The Dutchmen continued post-season play with a berth in the ECAC South Tournament, the fourth in program history.

Prior to becoming head coach, Salerno spent four years (2000-03) as an assistant at LVC during the most successful period in team history. In that span, Lebanon Valley achieved four straight Commonwealth Conference playoff berths and two conference championship game appearances. During her four years as an assistant at the Valley, LVC achieved a stellar 49-20-7 record.

Salerno is a 2000 graduate of Gettysburg College, where she was a four-year starter, two-time All-American, and Academic All-American on the women’s soccer team. She also played basketball for the Lady Bullets for three seasons. Salerno graduated summa cum laude from the college with a degree in health and physical education.

A native of Harrisburg, Pa., Salerno spent her high school years at Central Dauphin where she was a four-year letter winner in soccer, a three-year letter winner in basketball and track & field, and a two-year letter winner in cross country.

She earned her master’s degree in sports management at Millersville University in 2008 and currently resides in Harrisburg with her husband, Mike.
