Lyndsay Kieffer, former assistant and 1,000 point scorer at Alfred University, has joined the Lebanon Valley women's basketball coaching staff.

Kieffer brings two years of college coaching experience with her to Lebanon Valley. She was a member of the Saxons' women's basketball staff in 2012-13 and 2013-14, working as an assistant for her father, Alfred head coach Jay Murphy. She was also a graduate assistant coach for Alfred's women's soccer team in 2011-12.

A 2011 graduate of Alfred, Kieffer played three years for her father after transferring from St. John Fisher College. A team captain her junior and senior seasons, she was named an Empire 8 First-Team All-Conference selection as a sophomore, junior, and senior. She reached the 1,000 point scoring-mark in just three years as a Saxon.

Kieffer was a three-sport athlete in basketball, soccer, and track and field at Hornell High School in New York and graduated as class salutatorian in 2007.

Kieffer earned her bachelor's degree in childhood education and her master's degree in school counseling from Alfred and works as a school counselor in the Donegal School District in Mount Joy.

Her husband, Justin, is a familiar face at Lebanon Valley, serving as the school's athletic equipment manager and an assistant for the men's lacrosse team. The pair met as undergrads at Alfred and were married last summer.
