John L. Gronski, Major General (USA, Retired) currently serves as a senior mentor for the U.S. Army Mission Command Training Program, an adjunct fellow for the Center for European Policy Analysis, a Washington D,C-based think tank, and as President of Leader Grove LLC, a leadership development and management consulting firm.
 
Gronski served for over 40 years in the United States Army, on active duty and in the National Guard, and retired from the Army in June 2019. He commanded infantry units at the company, battalion, brigade and division level. His last assignment was as U.S. Army Europe Deputy Commanding General (National Guard) from May 2016 until April 2019. He served as Commanding General of the 28th Infantry Division leading approximately 15,000 Soldiers.  Gronski is a combat veteran and commanded the 2nd Brigade, 28th Infantry Division in Ramadi, Iraq in 2005-2006. The Brigade was manned with over 5,000 U.S. Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Sailors and added an additional 5,000 Iraqi Soldiers over the one year deployment.  In 2002, Gronski commanded a task force of 2,000 Soldiers and deployed to the central region of Europe to conduct a force protection mission of US installations in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. He spent a year in Lithuania leading a small team of American and Lithuanian military personnel and Lithuanian civilians. 
 
Gronski completed numerous military schools to include Airborne School, Ranger School, the Infantry Officer Advance Course, and the U.S. Army War College.  His military awards and decorations include the Army Distinguished Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, Bronze Star, Iraq Campaign Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Ranger Tab, and Basic Parachutist Badge.  Foreign awards include the Cross of the Knight of the Order for Merits to Lithuania; and the Golden Medal of the Polish Armed Forces.
 
Gronski has a Master of Business Administration from Penn State Great Valley and a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. He is a trained Six Sigma Black Belt and has attended Alvernia University as a doctoral student in the corporate leadership program. Gronski has approximately fifteen years' experience as a management consultant and program manager. He has provided oversight and mentorship to large and diverse implementation teams in Fortune 500 companies. Gronski has led project teams responsible for the planning and execution of large, complex projects. He has also provided consulting services at the C-level and has experience as an executive coach.
 
Gronski is a character-based servant leader guided by integrity and courage. Gronski refers to himself as a "student of leadership" rather than an "expert in leadership".  He has strategic and operational experience at senior levels in both the military and civilian sector and has led both small teams and large complex organizations. Gronski's personal leadership philosophy is built upon character, competence and resilience. He believes that everyone has the ability to develop as a stronger leader.
 
Gronski is a much sought-after speaker and leadership seminar facilitator. His presentations feature inspirational stories and wisdom gained from his own leadership experience and the experience of others. He has presented leadership seminars, keynote addresses, and provided group facilitation to many large organizations and companies including a myriad of units and directorates within military, the National Conference on Ethics in America at West Point, PECO Energy, Exelon, Comcast, the YMCA, the Freedom Alliance, Penn State University, Drexel University, Widener University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Pittsburgh, Bucknell University, University of Scranton, Wilkes University, Albert Einstein Health Network, Buckman's Inc., Delaware Valley Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Schlouch Inc., Boy Scouts of America, Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce, the Union League of Philadelphia, and the Young Presidents’ Organization.
